Vanity 6 were one of the first Prince side projects. Vanity - the front woman - was Denise Matthews, a nude model and b-movie actress that Prince met, thinking she would be the perfect lead for his ‘hookers’ project. Prince’s vision was that the three women would perform in lingerie and sing sensual songs with lyrics about sex and fantasy. The 6 refers to the breast count of the 3 members.
